4 Books I am reading

books I am reading

Hey friends,

How’s it going? I hope all is well with you! I thought that I should talk a little bit about the books I am reading and planning on reading soon! Maybe you’ll find some fun or inspiring books in the mix. I’ve been thinking of doing some reviews on books. I’ll see how that goes, but for now, I will list and give a summary of these books.

Let’s get into what I am reading.

Books I am reading

1. A wife after God’s own heart

This book has been on my reading list for a while; I am finally getting to it! I am hoping that this book helps me to become the wife that God wants me to be. I know I seriously lack in some areas of my wifely duties. So maybe this book can tell me what to focus on and help me to realize what I need to work on a little bit more. It covers areas such as communication, having fun in your marriage and being a better wife. We can all use some help and encouragement, so I think this book is worth reading (even though I haven’t read it yet!) I may do a follow-up post and let you know how it turns out.

2. What does it mean to be well educated?

I am not too sure where this book will take me, but I am interested in finding out. I believe that our educational system has some flaws, as does everything in life. However, I think that we can improve them. Hopefully, this book will give some insight into how to improve the system and give me some ideas to work with for when I have children of my own. We will see!

FOUR BOOKS I A READING

3. Busy for self, lazy for God

I mentioned this book in my 6 books to read in 2019 post. I am now getting to it, and I am thankful for the wisdom this book has to offer. It keeps you accountable for the ways you may be lazy towards God. It is so true that we all try to find excuses for why we can’t spend more time ministering, helping out others and reading our bible. This book also goes through Proverbs for bible references and studying diligence. It is turning out to be a great book, and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to be diligent in their walk with God.

4. Nathaniel’s Nutmeg

This book is a nonfiction account of the history of nutmeg. I love reading about history. Therefore I picked this book because it seemed interesting to learn about nutmeg. It is surprising to think that we live our everyday lives with this spice that is so accessible without thinking of its origins. I will tell you one thing; it wasn’t easy to come by this spice that makes our pumpkin pies taste so good.

Just a little disclaimer though, this book is a bit difficult to read in some areas, and it isn’t that censored. I think history should not be censored because its what happened for us to get here. However, some areas are saddening and upsetting, so be aware if you choose to read this book.

Final thoughts

Currently, I am reading Busy for life, lazy for God and Nathaniel’s Nutmeg. I do read books randomly and read a few at the same time. I would love to say I can sit down and read none stop but other duties call my attention, so I try to get as much reading done when I can. I hope that you all find something new to read from this list. If you have any books you are reading now, please leave them in the comments below. And tell me your reading routine, do you read super fast and finish each book before moving to the next or are you a hot mess like me and read tons at the same time?

Until next time,

yasmin rose xoxo
