must have apps to strengthen your faith

Hey friends,

I think we can all say that we use our phones more often than we should. If we are honest with our selves, we can add that we are using apps that are a bit distracting and unhelpful. Apps that we wouldn’t want our kids on all day long. In reality, our phones help us out in many ways; they are helpful in emergencies, communicating, and entertainment. However, when used too much for the wrong reasons, it can cause us to neglect the important areas of our lives.

Despite these negative and concerning points, our phones can be a great way to grow in our faith. We just need to know how to use them right. Therefore, I wanted to share my favorite apps that I use daily to help grow my faith. Hopefully, you all find something helpful and worth trying from my list of apps!

Must have apps that will strengthen your faith

1. The Bible app

Now, I know this one is totally obvious! The majority of us use this app on our phones daily or at least have it somewhere on our phone. It is still worth sharing because, in my opinion, it is a fantastic resource for all believers to use. I mean we have multiple Bible versions right at our fingertips, 24/7, wifi or not! This app allows me to get into my Bible reading while on the run. I have found it especially helpful while out running errands with the hubby. While waiting for Dev to finish in the store, I get some Bible time in!

Another way I use this app is by listening to the audio version of my desired Bible translation while doing housework or running errands. I tend to listen to this version when I start a new book to get a glimpse of what I am going to read.

However, even though this app is beneficial with reading the Bible, I want to stress that we should all strive to read a physical Bible during our quiet time of meditation and prayer. Phones do tend to have a lot more distracting features that can take away from our Bible time. Therefore, it should only be used to supplement our Bible studies!

2. Echo

I finally found this app that helps with my prayer time. This app is easy to use and visually appealing. It allows you to add prayers in with titles, photos, and descriptions.  You can also set reminders so you can stay on top of all of the prayers. The best part of this app is that it has an “answered” option so you can keep track of all the prayers that were answered by God! I think it’s incredible to look back at all the prayers you made and to see how God has worked in your life to answer them. It is just a neat app that can help make prayer time easier!

3. Bible Memory

Now, this is probably the app I am most excited about! I recently found this app, and I am so thankful that I have. It is used to help with scripture memorization. First, you add the verse/s that you want to memorize manually or automatically. Then the app makes you do some exercises to help you remember the words of each verse. You first type the first letter of each word in the verse. Then you complete a fill in the blanks exercise for the same verse. Once you can complete this step without mistakes, you’ll then be asked to fill in the whole verse by memory. After mastering the verse, the app reminds you to practice memorizing it from time to time.

This application has helped me with memorizing verses, and I am so happy that I have found it. The best part is that I can use it while I am out and about. However, keep in mind you can’t import new verses automatically without internet. Instead, you will have to add it manually.

4. Christian history daily email

This isn’t an app but instead an email subscription that is sent to your inbox every day. You are sent historical events that occurred on that day at some point in history. These events are to do with the Christian faith in some way or another. I have enjoyed getting these emails daily, since I love history in general, and it has allowed me an insight into our amazing Christian history. I think it is a blessing to look into the lives of people that came before us. To know about the amazing individuals that helped shape the Christian faith and to share in the ups and downs they all faced is a great inspiration to continue ministering!

I think this daily email has given me hope, inspiration, and entertainment. We must look at these stories of our past and find ways to continue moving forward!

5. 1- minute Bible love notes

These daily emails are also such a blessing. I have been receiving these emails in my inbox for some time now. They have given me inspiration, hope, and wisdom in my faith since the first one. They are very short and to the point, which is excellent for all of us busy people. These love notes discuss real-life situations that we probably all have experienced at some point in our lives and ties Biblical teachings into all of them. They are straightforward and gives you some insight every day. A lot of them sparked a desire to read more of scripture to dig deeper too! Gail Burton Purath has done a great job in bringing wisdom into something so short! I encourage all of you to subscribe to these emails!
