Hey Guys,
I just wanted to stop in to give a quick book list on trust and gratitude. I think these are two good areas to focus on in these strange and unprecedented times.
Here’s some encouragement!
Book recommendations
1. Bible
I will always say that you could find all the encouragement, motivation, comfort, and guidance you ever need from this book. You do not need anything else to soothe your soul and make you start looking ahead with courage!
If you are unsure where to start when looking for biblical guidance, I recommend checking out my Trust Bible study. It has 31 verses to read on trust and comes with a printable Bible study booklet so you could memorize and dig deeper.
The book of Psalms is a good place to find scriptures on trusting the Lord, giving Him praise, and showing gratitude!
2. Be restored- Warren W. Wiersbe
This book is a commentary on the book of 2 Samuel which speaks on trusting God. This Bible commentary should help us grasp more truth from scripture that we might not have necessarily seen before. I highly recommend reading this commentary after you have studied your own Bible to see what other comforting truths you can find. This book is a part of a series that has a commentary for each book of the Bible.
3. Trusting God
I found this book when I was searching for books to help me find trust and comfort. This book helps answer those tough questions like, “why would God allow bad things to happen”? By understanding God’s will and power we learn to trust Him more and this book helps us to understand God in this comforting way.
4. Quiet Confidence for a Woman’s Heart- Elizabeth George
Trusting in God means we grow in confidence with Him. It is surely a great comfort to know that while all else fails, God never will! This is a devotional book on Psalm 23. I think most of us look to Psalm 23 as a comforting verse, and therefore it should be helpful to walk through it to see how trustworthy God really is and what it means for each of us.
5. Practicing gratitude devotional
This 14-day devotional has some nice little stories to put the act of thankfulness into perspective. I am working through it right now and it has been very helpful for me to find more gratitude this year. By reminding ourselves of what we are thankful for each day, we learn how to trust God more because we see His hand working in our lives more clearly. Increasing your gratitude will definitely help you to increase your trust in God. More trust means more comfort and peace of mind and joy-filled life.
Final thoughts
I hope that this book list will encourage you in some way or another. I pray that you find comfort and courage in these unprecedented times. If you have any more book recommendations for trusting our Lord, please leave them in the comments below.
Until next time,
yasmin rose xoxo
