Hey guys,
I want to share four fun activities that we could all do to have us focused on God and family more rather than worry and fear.
Let’s have some fun!
Fun activities to try
1. Start writing poetry
This was a fun idea I came up with for myself. Use this opportunity to pray to God and to praise Him. Think about the Psalms for inspiration. Have your children make their own poems and then have poetry night in the living room. Make some pizza and cupcakes, and each person could read their poem out loud! It should be fun and entertaining.
Don’t stop at poetry, write songs, have the kids write out plays of well-known Bible stories and act them out too! And yes! You should play along also!
For my young ladies out there, you could do all of this with your family, sisters, or have a virtual poetry night with your friends! Get creative and have fun with it!
2. Start scrapbooking
This is another fun activity I recently got back into. When I was a teen, this, along with drawing and other crafts were my go-to remedy for life’s worries. I think after getting married, and life became much busier, I pushed scrapbooking to the side. However, scrapbooking is a fun way to create memories and to record them. Take pictures from past events or make new ones and sit down with the hubby and kids to make your adventure books. I guarantee there will be lots of laughter and bonding!
3. Start a new Bible study
This may seem like a no brainer, but trust me, it’ll pay off! Sometimes we get stuck in the same old routine and life could get boring. There are a ton of bible studies on the web, free printables, and scripture journals. Order a pretty new prayer journal to accompany you during quiet time or buy a new commentary to supplement the book that you are in.
Be sure to check out my list of free Bible studies and my printables for more ideas.
4. Learn a new hobby
There are a ton of hobbies out there that could bring joy to your life. Try embroidery, or drawing, watercolor painting, or learn pottery. If you want to get more active, you could buy a backyard badminton set or just a simple soccer ball. I am sure there’s a list of crafts or sports you always wanted to try! Here is the time to check them out!
Final thoughts
I hope that this list of fun activities will help you to find new ways to focus your mind on God and his beautiful blessings. I trust that they will bring you joy and help you bond with God and your family while easing your mind from the stresses of everyday life.
If you have any other fun activities that you think we could benefit from, please share them in the comments below!
Until next time,
