I am back!

Hey guys,

Wow! It has been a long time since we’ve chatted…I know, I know..It’s all my fault, I’ve been off the radar for a few months. Nevertheless, I am back now and will try to make my absence up.

Therefore, first off let me take this time to say that I have missed being on here so much and that I hope that you guys have been enjoying 2019 thus far.

I am looking forward to growing in our friendships this year and hopefully inspiring some of you to be the best you this year also! I plan on giving more inspiration and helpful advice along with fun tips and tricks to bring joy to all our lives.

What I am up to this year

This past couple of months have been a whirlwind of tasks and working. Devin and I were trying to get our living arrangments sorted out, and luckily we are finished now! However, now that we are finished, I was feeling at somewhat of a loss to how to even get back to the routines I had set up for myself previously.

On top of my regular goals and to-do lists that were pushed back, this new home is supposed to be the start of many new goals that we have set for ourselves. Therefore, that means more goals=more to-do lists. It is safe to say that this year has and will be very busy!

I am excited about all of this but at the same time overwhelmed. I am sure I am not the only one that feels like this when new life events pop up! Well, I have been thinking and praying for God to guide Devin and me on this journey, and I have something to share.

Lamentations 3:22-24(NIV)

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”

Lessons from scripture

There are three things that this scripture taught me:

1. God forgives me every day.

No matter how much we failed today, God is right there telling us ‘it’s okay my child, get up and try again.’ He forgives us even when we do not forgive ourselves. Therefore, if you feel like you’re in a season like me; where other things consume your time, or you fall short of sin, always remember that God is there waiting for you to get back on track, every single day!

I think that this realization is encouraging and boosts my will and drive to want to do good and work hard at what God has set before me to accomplish! I hope that it will do the same for you.

2. God sees a new day as new opportunities.

If God’s compassions are new every morning, that means God is giving us a second chance. He sees a new day as an opportunity to regroup, try again harder and to repent. Our Father isn’t some unforgiving man that has no faith in us. God loves us and believes that we can be great for his glory.

Therefore, God is teaching us that we should look at every new day as a new opportunity. So let us all rejoice in the fact that if today doesn’t go as planned, there is always tomorrow!

3. God will be faithful to us forever.

It is an amazing idea to think that God will forever love us and keep us in His grace. This is the main point of the scripture. Just think of the bigger picture, forever is a long time; therefore, what we are doing today is only a small act in a life of eternity. This means that we should take each day at a time (something God has been drastically instilling in me recently) and to look at the grand scheme of things. Trust me, it is easy to get caught up on the small stuff, but when you find yourselves doing just that, stop and think of God’s mercy and love. Think of the same task you are frustrated about and what part it plays in God’s amazing story.

I think doing this will help to refocus us and show us that it is unnecessary to stress out about failed to-do lists etc.

P.S – This doesn’t mean your goals and life is insignificant at all! It means that God calls us to be so much more than a stress basket! (lol) See that it’s all going according to plan and ask God for guidance.

Final thoughts

I am taking this time moving forward to crack down on all my goals and will keep these lessons I learned close to mind when things do not go as planned. I pray that you are making progress with whatever goals you are working towards. It is also my hope that I have helped relieve some stress from y’all lives! I will be chatting with you guys soon, yes really! But for now, take care, everyone!
